We headed to roughly halfway between my parents house and ours to meet up them this weekend, and what a great halfway point it is! We met up at
Nymans Gardens for their annual 'Green Fair', we'd been last year and thought it was so great we wanted to go again this year - I think it could become a family tradition. Kit being a bit older this year was able to take part in the activities this year, which meant it was even more fun.
He collected leaves and seeds and twigs, and made a clay bug.
He also made a mosaic block (and got entertained by the lovely man doing the grouting as he decided he was going to sit with him!).
He played with some bugs, and searched for them with a spoon. And studied bees for a very long time (well long for a toddler!)
It's a great place to visit regardless of the Green Fair. There are masses of grounds to explore and flowers to admire. There is a forest house and the remains of - I want to say - a church, but I'm not sure! They often have kids activities, and there were clipboard activities for the slightly bigger kids. I'm considering asking Santa for National Trust membership so we might become regulars!
Check back next year to see how much fun we have again. Or come along too!
That looks like such a fun day out! I can't wait until mine is old enough to do stuff like this with! x
